4320 Stevens Creek Blvd. San Jose, CA 95129 10:00AM Arrive at Rancho Cordova 10:30AM Start Rafting About half way down the river, get ready for the thrill of the San Juan Rapids. These rapids are exciting yet navigable by even the novice rafter. Enjoy the rest of your float sunning and swimming one of the clearest rivers in the west! Approximate float time to Goethe Park is 3 to 4 hours depending on releases from Nimbus Dam. Upon arriving at Goethe Park shuttle passengers should turn in your raft and our fleet of shuttle buses will return you to the start. 2:30PM Return to San Jose or go to Lake Tahoe Trip with Julia What to Bring Sun screen, sunglasses, snacks, and beverages (no glass containers), small ice chest with food, shoes or sandals will make your trip more comfortable. Please do not bring pets. Cost: Event price includes Car pool, return shuttle service, raft, paddles, and life vests. Members: $35.00 Non-members: $45.00 DIRECTIONS: From the San Francisco Bay Area, take Interstate 80 East to Sacramento. In West Sacramento, I-80 will split, and the right hand lanes will head for Reno, Nevada. The left lanes will turn into Highway 50 towards South Lake Tahoe. Continue on Highway 50 approximately 20 miles. You will pass these exits: Watt Ave, Bradshaw Rd, Mather Field Blvd, and Zinfandell. The next exit is Sunrise Blvd. Take this exit north, turn left on Sunrise Blvd. Travel about 1.5 miles north on Sunrise and turn right on So. Bridge street just before Sunrise crosses the American River. The raft rental is visible from Sunrise.  |
